What You Will Do:
Our Davenport location is looking for a Part-Time Grounds Maintenance Technician to add to the growing team. The Grounds Maintenance Tech will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, equipment, and facilities of the Davenport Municipal Airport by mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal.
This role will require someone who enjoys working outside all year long, doesn’t mind occasional weekend or nighttime snow removal during the winter months and is at least 18 years of age.
Maintain the Revv Aviation Standard for Customer Service.
Adhere to and maintain compliance of Revv Aviation’s Safety policies and procedures; identify and report any safety related issues or concerns.
Operates small to medium sized equipment such as snowplows, snow blowers, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weed trimmers, medium duty trucks and wheeled loaders/tractors.
Care for and perform minor repairs to all tools and equipment related to the job.
Perform minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building repairs, as needed.
Establish effective working relationships with management, staff, vendors, city of Davenport employees and the public.
Continued development of methods, materials and equipment used to maintain lawns, shrubs, trees, and the overall grounds.
Plan and schedule work based on priority.
Collaborate effectively with other departments, as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Ability to operate, or learn to operate, a variety of motor vehicles
Some experience with Mowing and Plowing
Ability to work required hours and nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid Driver’s License
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Or, any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly
Ability to respond quickly to sounds
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
Ability to stoop, bend, climb and stretch
Nice to Haves:
Previous experience in the use of small to medium duty maintenance/construction equipment
Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used for light duty preventative maintenance, repair and cleaning of buildings and facilities.
