Morson are currently looking to recruit Ground Crew/ Aircraft Handler to support one of our prestigious Clients based in Somerset.
SECTION 1 - JOB PURPOSE
Aircraft handling, refuelling/ defueling, cleaning & weapon loading.
SECTION 2 - MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
Carry out aircraft handling, including towing, as tasked by the Engineering Controller/ Inspector and in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions.
Aircraft refuelling and defueling including APU refuels.
Authorised to sign for fuel state.
Preparation of aircraft for flight and security of aircraft after flight, including checks for correct safeing of aircraft and armaments.
Aircraft weapon preparation, loading/unloading (drill rounds only) and associated maintenance in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions.
Assistance with aircraft role changes.
Fitting aircraft blanks, covers and tying down the aircraft.
Aircraft cleaning and washing.
Participate in exercise detachments and aircraft recovery operations as required.
Operation and before use inspection of AGE and Hangar 5 facilities as directed.
Administration and cleanliness of the Line Office.
To drive, maintain (class "A" tasks only) and clean AWL and MOD-issued vehicles, including the AWL car and minibus, and the MOD tractor, aircraft tug and MHE as required.
FOD clearance and checking the security of the dispersal area.
Carry out Hangar 5 security duties at the beginning and the end of the working day, as rostered.
Any other tasks as directed by the Engineering Controller.
SECTION 3 - KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Should ideally have a minimum of one year military aircraft handling, refuelling and marshalling experience. Must hold a current full Driving Licence and be capable of qualifying to operate a tractor/ tug and MHE.
Must be physically fit. Must be versatile and flexible with respect to the range of tasks that may be required and have a technical aptitude.
