This role is within the Instrumentation and Specialty Control's Brookfield Engineering Business unit.
Viscometers, rheometers, texture analyzers and powder flow testers used in R&D, QC and inline applications for rheological fluid analysis, tension/compression analysis and powder flow analysis. Markets include food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, personal care products, adhesives, printing inks and coatings, paper coatings, chemicals, packaging, plastics, construction materials, and asphalt.
We are looking to hire an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about providing the right products to our customers. Ideally, you have a strong understanding of viscosity and rheology, and a keen acumen for new technologies and market trends.
As Product Manager, you will act as a leader for your product line through every aspect of its life cycle including vision to execution, roadmap creation, value definition, and external communication and promotion. In this role, you will be involved with strategy and execution from beginning to end, working with a cross-functional team that includes sales, operations, and engineering as well as partner companies.
As a member of the Marketing team, the Product Manager is responsible for new product development and stewardship of our inline viscometry instruments and our newly acquired family of moisture analyzers and gas detection instruments. This role will work to build AMETEK Brookfield’s reputation as the leader in the instrumentation space.
Manage all aspects of product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
Develop business cases and own all product management responsibilities to drive adoption and grow the customer base of assigned products.
Oversee product development, defining the product strategy and creating product road maps.
Develop pricing strategies and product policies.
Lead new product development from concept through commercialization including voice of customer research, definition of customer and product requirements and value proposition, public presentations, and competitive analysis.
Drive prioritization of the new product development through collaboration with development teams.
Work with Operations to ensure proper service and inventory levels, leading the S&OP process from the demand planning side working with regional sales teams.
Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise
Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive strategy to identify opportunities to increase customer and business value through product differentiation.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards
Develop launch plans, marketing campaigns with customer messaging working with the commercial marketing team.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry required, MBA a plus
Minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing, Engineering and Product Development required
Previous experience in scientific instrumentation or process controls industries is desired
Project/Program management experience
Ability to think strategically and analytically, with the versatility and agility required in a fast-paced, high performance work environment
Strong presentation and communication skills
Comfortable working in cross functional, multi-cultural teams and a multi-national organization
Willing to travel 25%-30% including overnight and internationally
