Reporting to Freighter Operations Officer, the Freighter Loading Team Supervisor will have to ensure Customer Airlines Freighter aircraft’s are loaded and offloaded safely according to the Freighter Handling Manual (FHM) and other associated Manuals. To plan, organize, deploy and control QAS resources to ensure a safe handling of the turnaround activities & monitor the turnaround activities so that they meet the agreed level of service delivery, time frame as well as resolve issue(s) which may impact the Aircraft turnaround whilst ensuring the loading is in accordance to the LIRF & the load sheet reflects the actual loading.
In this role you will be responsible to ensure sufficient equipment is arranged for smooth loading and offloading. Report irregularities during turnaround activities to Freighter Operations Officer. Check all incoming and outgoing units for damage, leakage or spillage, if any prior to loading /offloading must communicate irregularities/discrepancies. Ensure safe and timely delivery of Cargo to respective areas within stipulated timings.
The ideal applicant would have a High school qualification, be aware/trained and certified in IATA Dangerous Good Regulation (CAT 8) and Ramp/Aircraft handling with valid freighter check-outs and qualified to handle/load different types of aircrafts. You must also have at least 5 years’ experience in loading both wide / narrow body aircrafts, of which 2 years in ramp operations and at least 1 year experience in Freighter Loading/unloading.
Essentially you must have practical knowledge in loading oversized, overhanging cargo shipments and the offloading on different Freighter Aircrafts, knowledge of Basic Load Control and should have proficiency in Ground Handling Procedures and Departure Control System. You are also expected to have excellent communication skills and a good understanding of Airport Communications System (Departure Control System/Baggage Reconciliation System).
