General responsibilities of the position: Area of Expertise:
The Flight Test Instrumentation technician (FTI) is responsible for the instrumentation and measurement chain on board the Flying Test Beds (FTB 3 and FTB4). He is involved with the Engine Center and P&W/P&WC Instrumentations Groups in the flight testing of development engines from P&W and P&WC. He is in charge of installing flight test instrumentation and measurement systems, performing signal calibration, configuring Data Acquisition Systems, recording and monitoring of flight test data, troubleshooting instrumentation issues and producing relevant documentation. He reports directly to the Flight Test & Instrumentation Manager for Flight Operations.

Specific responsibilities of position: •Responsible for all aspects of Flight Test Instrumentation related to specific development engine flight test campaigns.
•Take charge for the Flight Test Instrumentation schedule and meeting the milestones (Installation, configuration, calibration, first groun run, first flight, closing of flight test campaign).
•Actively involved with IPT (Inter Plant Team) for flight test campaign preparation with engine Program Teams.
•Write work instructions for installation, removal and calibration of Flight Test Instrumentation equipments.
•Calibrate signals (Sensors, Data Acquisition Systems) for each flight test campaign and maintain calibration validity for each Flying Test Bed.
•Plan and complete the required hookup between engine sensors, pylon probes, signal conditioning equipments and Data Acquisition Systems on board the Flying Test Beds in order to meet tests requirements.
•Configure Data Acquisition Systems to meet tests requirements.
•Record the data for ground runs and flight tests while operating the Data Acquisition System on board Flying Test beds.
•Monitor the data acquisition and data validity in flight.
•Troubleshoot instrumentation issues if needed.
•Interface with program teams, maintenance, pilots, flight Test Specialists or Engineers.
•Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives and related business innovations.

Qualifications required: •College degree with a minimum of 5 years experience.
•5 year experience in calibration and instrumentation maintenance.
•5 years experience in test cells environment.
•Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) at P&W or P&WC.
•Flight Test Instrumentation experience (an asset).
•Leadership, autonomy, dedication.
•Demonstrate ability to work well in a team, to perform under pressure, to adapt to change and to face undcertainties .
•Ability to interface with diversity in people and stakeholders involved in flight test (hierarchy, personalities, suppliers, customers, authorities).
•Ability to innovate and change status-quo in the business unit.
•Bilingual (English and French).

Additional Information: •May travel occasionaly for business in other P&WC plants and in other country such as USA.
•Work schedule on day shift and evening shift in rotations (1 week / 5 weeks).
•Work schedule on week end (Saturday) in rotations (1 Saturday / 5 week ends).
•Flight test days start at 7am and finish at 7pm at the latest during active flight test campaign.
•Must pass a medical exam and obtain a High Altitude Indoctrination (HAI) certificate.
