The Flight Support Duty Manager is responsible for formulating the best possible solutions to meet and/or exceed Clients’ expectations with the available supply of aircraft and crews. Supports internal departments by managing fleet movement to meet aircraft maintenance and crew training requirements. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively examines Jet Insight for potential problems and uses problem solving skills to mitigate or eliminate each problem  
  • Evaluate each reservation and determine any nonstandard events that need to be communicated to our customer  
  • Has an operational knowledge of the Thrive System  
  • Knows the key points of contact within Flight Operations Center in each of the other Thrive operations  
  • QC all operational movements. 
  • Check security status of Airports that we fly to Understands operations/limitations/specifications of aircraft in relationship to customers requested itinerary. 
  • Knows the different types of aircraft, their relative size, limitations, and Pax capability compared to the aircraft we operate 
  • Knows basic contract limitations and where to find specific information (WUP, Sentient, FX Air GRP) 
  • Is responsible of determining the priorities both individually and within the team. 
  • Understand the importance level of request to book / how to respond  
  • In non-standard situations, initiate IROP Procedures providing options and alternatives so that customer movement can be facilitated in a safe and timely manner  
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the flight itinerary and customer data entered into the Jet Insight and customer profile (Passenger Documents). 
  • Must have operational knowledge of all related computer data resources.  
  • Required understanding operational restrictions, international operations and customs requirements, as well as racecourse material available to research and confirm this information. Determine if planning/operations must review and /or approve. 
  • Utilize multiple resource materials (Atlas, Ac-U-Kwik, charts, maps, and various computer software) to assist customers in scheduling trip itinerary. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of international travel requirements and restrictions and of FAA Regulations (FAR’s), specifically part 91 and 135. 
  • Assure the accomplishment of all flight bookings, changes in Pilot Master data entry in a timely fashion by the team  
  • Coordinates with internal departments those activities that require immediate attention  
  • Document, as required any/all situations or deviations that affect the quality of Flight Operations Center and beings them to the attention of the next higher-level supervisor. 
  • Knows how to handle all Flight Feasibility Reviews  
  • Other duties assigned by Department Head  
  • Schedule pilots and flight attendants for daily pairing and future operations, making adjustments on short notice as needed to support Crew Planning & Scheduling. 
  • Monitor Update of the Crew Pairing Plan on the Daily Checklist & FS Passdown 
  • Work closely with maintenance, flight operations, and pilots to ensure a cohesive and clear flight schedule 
  • Maintain daily crew assignments, check-in records, and crew time records 
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations regarding currency and flight/duty time limitations 
  • Research and resolve conflicts regarding crew schedules 
  • Communicate changes to the schedule to all appropriate departments in a timely manner 
  • Assist pilots and crew with scheduling issues such as leave or medical appointments 
  • Perform other duties as necessary 
  • Assist in travel arrangement on heavy crew swap days in coordination with Flight Support Team.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger and required to reach with hands and arms. There is no significant standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. The person in this position needs to be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. There is a constant operation of a telephone and computer. The employee may be lifting up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust and focus. 


Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while in an office environment. The work is typically done while sitting at a desk or table. 

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Experience and Qualifications

The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria. 

  • Minimum two years’ prior experience in scheduling 
  • FAA Dispatcher License required
  • Part 135 charter experience preferred 
  • Exceptional customer service skills 
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong organization and communication skills 
  • Continual on call availability during non-business hours 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word and Outlook). 
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and strong decision-making skills. 
  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal skills and problem resolution skills are required. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail with organization and time management skills.
