The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established Programme Manager to join AAR International on a permanent, full time basis; working in support of a Falkland Islands Search and Rescue (FISAR) Programme.  

The Programme Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of a UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) contract, providing Search and Rescue (SAR) helicopter and Support Helicopter (SH) services in the Falkland Islands.  They will be responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of the Contract throughout all phases; inclusive of managing and controlling the technical aspects of the Contract.

Key responsibilities will include identifying and achieving programme cost targets and financial goals, management of key sub contractors and their outputs, supervising the contract operations through the Base Manager and a professional team of SAR Pilots and Engineers.  The Programme Manager will work as part of the programme support team along with additional AAR personnel who provide financial, contractual, trade compliance, HR support and legal review on emerging and ongoing programmes. 

Additional duties include reporting programme information to relevant levels of the AAR management team, through daily coordination and periodic formal reviews.  As well as liaising with the AAR programme team in allocating tasks and monitoring performance, they will ensure that all facets of the programme are compliant with the necessary contractual requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the already established relationship with customer stakeholder community.

The successful candidate will also manage task priorities, short-notice suspense, operational constraints and other potential elements that may impact on the ability to maintain schedule requirements, as well as assume total performance responsibility for work performed and data delivered.

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to meet the requirements of and achieve UK MoD Security Clearance

  • Certification as Programme Management Professional (PMP) (or equivalent experience)

  • Degree in Business Studies/Management (or equivalent experience)

  • Current operational experience in Rotary Aviation management (pilot, engineer, paramedic, or direct leadership of the same).

  • Proven experience as a Programme Manager involving direct control of subordinate groups and responsibility for contract cost, schedule and performance goals.

  • Current experience of managing a UK MoD Programme or similar US Programme.
