Position Description

Taylor Hobson, an AMETEK company, is searching for that “Best in Class” Field Service Engineer.

You will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, calibration, repair, training, and general customer support for ultra precision measurement equipment. Manages day to day activities pertaining to customer visits, and delivers high customer satisfaction to our install base. The position requires strong customer interaction skills at all levels. While thriving in a high paced environment and by using excellent technical skills, you will help increase our customer's production output and quality while working with some of the top Fortune 500 companies in their production and laboratory facilities.

Position Requirements

Strong electrical / electronics background, experience working on electro-mechanical systems, computer hardware and software skills, mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, deductive reasoning skills, sense of urgency and ownership are required.

Previous experience in service of large metrology instruments or any other electro-mechanical equipment used in a production environment is a strong plus.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years field service experience or military equivalent. Requires excellent listening skills, proactive thought process, ability to deliver more than what our customers expect, strong team player and group supporter. Minimum AS in Electronic Technology or Mechanical engineering, or E-5 military preferred (preferably in an electronic or electro/mechanical technician role). Must have or be able to get a passport. Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident green card holder.

Candidates should reside in the North East US in close proximity of a major airport. This is a Field Service position supporting all the customers in your assigned region. Extensive travel is required. Occasional travel throughout North America or to international locations may be required.

Estimated overnight travel: 70% on average.
