ABOUT THIS POSITION:

This
position supports the US Navy through the use of a mobile avionics test
laboratory consisting of an MH-60R with installed fleet hardware and software
systems, and its associated sub-systems.
This mobile test laboratory serves as a surrogate MH-60R for a wide
range of US Navy surface assets for a variety of testing and evaluations. The candidate will multi-task during much of
their time, and work with a variety of tasks, ranging from testing to
maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, operation of console/equipment,
evaluate performance under test, and validate technical operation of the
tactical interfaces for proper data/signal flow. Additionally, one would troubleshoot
inconsistencies of tactical communications between the mobile test laboratory
and the ship/system under evaluation. Though
based in PAXR, this position would include travel to the following locations
for testing and support: San Diego, CA., Salt Lake City, UT., Keyport, WA.,
Everett, WA., Bremerton, WA., Pt Mugu, CA., Norfolk, VA., Mayport, FL.,
Pascagoula, MS., Bath, MA., Moorestown, NJ., Wallops Island, VA., Mobile Bay,
AL.

MORE ABOUT THIS POSITION:

Independently
applies standard and adaptive engineering principles to investigate, analyze,
plan, develop, implement, test and evaluate systems on current or proposed
military weapon systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical
analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
Directly performs engineering functions such as system integration, integration
testing, system operation, and resource management.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High school graduate or equivalency certification. Successful completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or successful completion of at least six semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of three years’ experience in conducting laboratory research or laboratory analyses in the area of shipboard, aircraft and weapon systems; configuration and integration of hardware or software (or both); or test instrumentation. Of the three years’, a minimum of one year shall have consisted of test and evaluation involving military shipboard or aircraft systems or subsystems.

Additionally, the candidate should possess the following:

“On aircraft” Avionics/Electrical experience. To include, but not limited to, a working knowledge of the following:

Analysis of avionics communications channels such as MIL-STD-1553B data bus, ARINC-429, Ethernet, RS-170 video and discreet channels.

Aircraft power distribution and circuit protection.

Aircraft electrical diagrams and engineering drawings.

Aircraft wiring harness assembly and repair.

Familiar with the use of test equipment such as, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Time domain reflectometer.

Knowledge of the Principle of operations for Naval Antisubmarine Warfare systems would be preferable. P-3, P-8, MH-60R background would be a plus.

Link 16 user knowledge/experience.

Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Candidate should have a basic understanding of computer systems, such as:

Hardware troubleshooting, removal and replacement of defective components.

Computer networking infrastructure and configurations using Windows 10 and Red Hat.

Currently possessing a Commercial Drivers License, or having the ability to qualify for a Commercial Drivers license in a plus.
