Engineering Technician Under limited supervision, provides technical support in the areas of analysis, verification, measurement support, and equipment characteristics.
Performs engineering computations, manually or through the use of automated analysis programs (e.g., propagation, intermodulation, and frequency assignment).
Performs calculations using formulas or concepts of algebra, trigonometry, calculus, or statistics.
Collects technical data from appropriate documentation (e.g., technical manuals and internal and external reports), automated files, and other staff.
Determines and interprets equipment characteristics data, performs necessary analysis, and transcribes to required formats.
Assists engineers in moderately technical aspects of project work.
Designs and develops engineering sketches, drawings, graphs, slides, and charts for preliminary or final reports or briefings.
Assists in the training of less experienced staff.
Assists in the preparation of appropriate technical documentation.
Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.
Disassembles, conducts technical analysis, upgrades and repairs assorted cabling and electronics equipment
Excellent mathematical ability.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
Solder and Cable assembly certifications preferred.
Two year technical degree/certification in electrical or mechanical engineering. At minimum we require a High school diploma or equivalent plus any combination of relevant work experience, trade school or college education with 4 to 6 years of experience.
