Engineering Business Development Executive, Permanent

Stansted based; travel involved.

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Business Development Executive to work alongside our well established, reputable Engineering Business Development Manager.

This is a permanent, full-time role predominantly based in Stansted (frequent travel between the two bases will be required).

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Engineering Business Development Manager, this newly created role will aim to establish new customers and business opportunities and to ensure all customers receive an excellent level of service from the Engineering Sales department with proposals and queries presented in a timely manner in support of both the ‘Fixed’ & ‘Rotary’ wing market.

The successful candidate will be required to build and enhance relationships with customers and internal company departments.

Key accountabilities will include the following,

  • To shadow the Engineering Business Development Manager and/or Ops sales team as required in order to learn and develop key skills and meet existing and potential customers.
  • To attend relevant conferences, seminars and shows as directed by the business.
  • To visit customers and identify new opportunities.
  • To identify and follow up new business leads and build relationships and customer confidence and trust.
  • To continuously establish, maintain and develop internal systems to provide accurate visibility of useable data.
  • To be instrumental in the development of an Engineering sales strategy, based upon business data and intelligence.
  • To assist in the completion of accurate and timely proposals.
  • To work closely with the Technical Planning Department and Engineering teams.
  • Identify ways in which Harrods Aviation can constantly improve and maintain the relationships with the Customers and grow the business. This would also include Operations sales leads
  • Ensure that regular feedback is passed from the customer to internal departments and vice versa.

THE HOURS

The Engineering Sales Executive is required to provide an exceptionally high level of service and is responsible for ensuring that both business and customer needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner.

This a full-time role, based on 40 hours per week, generally worked Monday to Friday.  Due to the nature of the role, there will be the need for flexibility to work outside these hours to support the business - taking out of hours calls and carrying out some work is to be expected and will be required.

Travel between both bases, to customers, events and overseas will be necessary.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work independently within a set structure and defined parameters.

You will be a strong and confident communicator with the ability to build rapport with prospective clients, with the ability to grow and nurture business relationships.

You can demonstrate that you can combine commercial awareness with customer demand to provide a positive outcome for both parties, and portray a readiness and desire to learn relevant technical information in order to actively engage with customers about their maintenance needs.

The role requires a confident, enthusiastic individual with a willing personality and sense of humour.

In time, the role will include travel domestically and internationally to represent the company at various industry events and exhibitions. As such, an unrestricted passport is an essential requirement.

The role may be required to provide support at both locations therefore a full UK driving licence is essential, as is holding the right to live and work in the UK.  Please note that we cannot provide VISA sponsorship for this role.

You will also need to have a 5-year checkable history in order to obtain an airport ID pass.

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

Remuneration - £32,000 - £38,000 basic dependent on relevant experience.
