Engineer – Leadership Development Program
Location: Hauppauge, NY
The Fluid Systems Division of Parker Aerospace, located in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a candidate for the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP). The ELDP is a high-level training program designed to provide employees with companywide knowledge through select technology courses and collaborative projects, to become the leaders of tomorrow. The program will accelerate learning and appreciation of operations through cross-functional and cross-group exposure and will ensure new college grads develop skills for career progression through Parker Hannifin. Their fresh ideas and enthusiasm, combined with our industry leadership, will help us continue our success as the premier manufacturer of advanced motion and process control components and systems.
•Ability to demonstrate leadership skills including initiative to make an impact in their work or within their communities.
•Research, evaluate and recommend viable solutions to business issues.
•Work on a division, group, and/or peer team to complete assigned projects.
•Complete and present team projects to stakeholders.
•Present technical data to team mates.
•Complete multiple technology courses and training programs.
•Support teams in design, testing, integration and qualification activities of Parker products.
•Bachelor’s degree (BS) in electrical engineering.
•Master's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or an MBA preferred.
•Overall GPA of 3.5 or better; Core class GPA of 3.2 or better.
•Demonstrated leadership skills.
•Excellent communication and teaming skills.
•Demonstrated ability to manage conflict.
•Fundamental knowledge of engineering domain principles, concepts, and techniques.
•General knowledge of industry products and customers.
•Fundamental knowledge of and use of basic engineering design and analysis tools (e.g. computer‐aided design programs). Learns and utilizes specialized engineering databases; may require programming skills.
•Develops familiarity with products and customer specifications and standards applicable to assigned product line or system.
•Ability to communicate status of technical tasks and actions taken with clarity and precision.
•Ability to work with general direction and instruction regarding the scope of assignments; determines the priority and order of assignments; and applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques.
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and reports. Ability to present findings and information in both formal meetings and informally within and across Parker teams.
•Able to travel to one or more FSD sites in Florida, New York and/or Ohio for several weeks at a time to learn more about the business.
