The Engineer - Field 2 provides support all RC-135 operational and ground training missions by preparing mission software loads. They conduct recoveries of all missions by extracting critical data for customer use; provide Ground Data Processing System (GDPS) operations support, data import/export operations and mission data archiving; assist with GDPS hardware and software malfunction isolation, and configuration for special operations modes and testing as required. In addition they manage GDPS operations daily and make recommendations to correct system anomalies and are responsible for GDPS database and software configuration control, and login and password security controls.
This position requires working various shifts and traveling 25% of the time.
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Two to five years of directly related experience with Collection Systems.
•Thorough knowledge and understanding of hardware and software principles. Must be able to work unsupervised if necessary.
•Must have the initiative and ability to study and learn complex systems with a minimum of instruction.
•Knowledge and experience in Red Hat Linux system administration and Oracle database administrator duties preferred.
•Programming experience with Linux shell scripting, MySql, PHP, Perl, Java and HTML extremely helpful.
•Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ certification.
Position requires an active DOD Security Clearance with the ability obtain a DOD Top Secret Clearance, and the ability to maintain the stated clearances, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
