Primary Purpose:

LGS Innovations, a leader in solving the most complex networking and communications challenges, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer III for our Westminster, CO location.

Under minimal supervision, design and implement embedded real-time software and firmware solutions for custom wireless communication standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test and maintain real-time embedded software on custom wireless communications systems
Provide system analysis and implementation of wireless/networking protocols and applications
Understand customer requirements, identify risks and implement solutions to deliver quality software solutions
Design, document and implement signification portions of the communication system by interfacing with other development engineers to integrate total solution
Support technical leadership, design, documentation, and implementation of the real-time system management and the documentation of software and firmware versions and releases
Travel to other LGS locations or customer sites as necessary
Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Ability to obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level necessary to perform the duties of the position

Skills and Knowledge:

Experience with embedded software that controls hardware (e.g. device drivers, microcontrollers MSP, ARM, PIC)
Experience with the Linux kernel and embedded Linux distributions
In-depth knowledge of Linux system internals
Experience with development of real-time environments, wireless protocols, etc.
Experience with multiple programming methods including C++, JavaScript, Objective C, etc.
Scripting language experience required (e.g. Bash, Python, etc.)
Ability to interpret schematics and design/implement associated embedded software
Familiarity with Object Oriented Design, architecture and programming methods
Ability to rapidly learn new skills and apply them effectively
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required, including Microsoft SharePoint
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated effective teamwork skills
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, Master’s degree desired, and 4 – 6 years' related experience, or an equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience.

Desired Skills:

Understanding of RF equipment
Knowledge of cellular and wireless communication systems
Protocol stack and embedded application development experience
Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9
