JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision performs moderately complex Electronics Technician functions related to quality conformance testing including setup, programming, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic test and measurement systems by performing the following duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Applications may include analog, digital, optical and high voltage test systems.

The Electronics Technician works from documentation that includes electrical schematics, diagrams, notes, production prints and layouts including commercial and military standards. They also perform operational functional tests, trouble shooting, and debugging of assembles, subassemblies and systems to isolate fault and determine remedy for malfunction.

They set up and program Automated Test Equipment (ATE) such as DIT-MCO and Cirris for checkout of electrical cable assemblies and systems. These systems perform Continuity, Insulation Resistance and Dielectric Withstanding Voltage (DWV) testing.

They utilize normal and specialized manufacturing test or diagnostic equipment including Oscilloscopes, Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR), Signal Generators, Milliohmmeters and Digital Multimeters (DMM). Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) are used for IL and VSWR measurements of RF assemblies. Power Meters, OTDRs and Interferometers are used to measure Optical systems.

They prepare acceptance and qualification tests and assist in the purchase, design, construction and verification of complex test cables, adapters and fixtures. They also assist in test procedure development and review.

* Write/Verify Ditmco Test Programs to match Customer Documentation
* Write/Verify OmniTester Test Programs to match Customer Documentation
* Create/ Maintain Test Log
* Diagnose / Troubleshoot test errors using Fluke DVOM with customer schematic
* RF Testing on Network Analyzer (VSWR/Insertion Loss/Delay/Phase)
* In-house calibrations of three Network Analyzers
* TDR Testing (Impedance/Propagation Delay)
* Oscilloscope Testing (Amplitude/Eye Patterns when used with GigaBert)
* Manual 4-wire (Kelvin) testing with Valhalla/GW Instek
* Manual Hipot Testing with Chroma
* Maintain/Repair Test/Scan Harnesses (Order Connectors)
* Write Procedures to be sent to Customer on Ditmco Testing
* Set up/Maintain Cirris Programs Review ECN (Engineering Change Notice)and revise update test programs accordingly
* Update test program logs accordingly
* Diagnose electrical problems on RMA (return units) when Manufacturing Engineering needs assistance.
* Recently (last several months) have been researching and buying replacement test connectors for repairing damaged/worn connectors.
* Responsible for ordering wire used on test harnesses and providing weaving instructions to the Weave Room on number of conductors to weave.
* Assist Engineering in determining or modifying new cable design characteristics to allow the electrical limits for impedance, conductivity and isolation to be met.
* Provide rapid response for electrical troubleshooting at the test stations on all one piece flow manufacturing lines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
* Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
