The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Electrical Design Engineers (Level 5) to join the Electronic Products (EP) team located in Huntsville, AL. The successful applicants will become part of Boeing’s core Electronics Design team and support / work in the Electrical Engineering area.

The Huntsville EP organization supports a diverse portfolio of customers including Department of Defense, NASA, Homeland Security and Boeing Commercial Aircraft. The team is responsible for Electrical / Electronic Hardware, Test Equipment, Avionics, Smart Battery System and Wire Harness Design.

Position Responsibilities
Your duties as an engineer will include (but are not limited to):

*

This position has responsibilities in the areas of the following: Embedded Firmware Design, Circuit Design, Schematic Capture, Board Layout, Circuit Simulation and C++ Programming

* Lead work with customers to develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements on complex multi-tiered projects

* Lead analysis and translation of complex requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications

* Lead testing and validation work on complex system designs to assure that operational and functional requirements are met

* Work with other to develop program test strategies

* Manage performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

* Conduct program independent reviews and reports results to program leadership

* Provide critical support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

* Lead research into technology advances for potential application to company business needs

* Make recommendations for technology investments. Recognized as a business unit-wide expert in process development and qualification, physical and functional integration and installation design and resolving supplier technical issues

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Electronic HW Design & Analysis

Must have degree from an accredited school in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

*

Schematics capture, PCB design & layout with Mentor Graphics or other PCB design software

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

*

PCB hardware design using micro controller units & FPGA devices

*

PCB design & PCB assembly verification, debug, troubleshooting & repair

*

FPGA & CPLD design implementation for custom designed boards

*

Xilinx, Altera or other FPGA exposure

*

Programming experience in C/C++, C#, Java, Visual Basic

*

Lab View programming

*

Knowledge of Matlab, PSPICE and Linux

Typical Education / Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
This position is located in Huntsville, AL and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in the area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
