Currently, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Nuclear Department.

Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer 3, Nuclear is responsible for electrical circuit design/troubleshooting and the support of the development /qualification test activities for FCI Nuclear product used in commercial nuclear power, research, and government applications.

Essential Job Functions (primary duties and outputs of position)

  • Support product proposal design, cost estimates, and schedule
  • Supports technical discussions with customers such as design reviews
  • Supports new product development including creating system design specifications, schematics, board layouts, prototype testing, design iteration, manufacturing, factory acceptance testing, and maintenance and troubleshooting manuals
  • Supports existing product maintenance and component obsolescence issues
  • Create and revise engineering documentation including drawings, parts lists, schematics, artwork, operation sheets, manufacturing procedures, factory acceptance test procedures, maintenance and troubleshooting manuals, prototype and qualification test procedures
  • Supports manufacturing, troubleshoots equipment and implement solutions.
  • Makes recommendations to implement design improvements, streamlining of manufacturing processes and reducing product cost.
  • Makes recommendations on the selection and design of test equipment.
  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident status.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • BSEE with 5 or more years of progressive work experience in designing analog and digital circuitry (with focus on analog op-amp circuits, comparators, signal conditioning, and filters).
  • MSEE with 3 or more years of progressive work experience in designing analog and digital circuitry (with focus on analog op-amp circuits, comparators, signal conditioning, and filters).
  • Experience in circuit design tools, schematic capture, layout fundamentals, SPICE, analog circuitry, low-level voltage signals, and instrumentation and control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment and develop solutions.
  • Experience writing failure analysis reports.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English. 
  • Must possess excellent technical writing skills.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office tools; Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Experience with compliance to CE requirements, IEC61010, EMC, and LVD
  • Experience with prototyping is a plus.
  • Experience with software V&V per IEEE1012 is a plus
  • Experience with nuclear quality standard NQA-1 is a plus
  • Experience with ORCAD is a plus
  • Experience with analog/digital converters is a plus

Physical/Travel Requirements

Pay Range:  $76,000 to $115,000

Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
