SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate shall have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of electrical engineering to solve complex problems and be willing to grow their engineering skills, as the job requires. Previous experience working in an engineering lab environment is beneficial. Experience working with digital electronics with insight into RF design and testing is desired. Knowledge of board level circuit design and lab test equipment is a plus. Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary, as the candidate will work and directly report to a senior engineer.

The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a senior engineer. The candidate will work in a lab and office environment with guidance from senior engineers to troubleshoot complex engineering problems and come up with innovative solutions. The candidate will have responsibilities inside the lab to test, troubleshoot, and integrate hardware and software into complex electrical systems. Use of both digital and RF test equipment is a requirement to fully test and integrate hardware into a larger system design. The candidate will have an opportunity to learn and understand the basics of electrical engineering and use that knowledge to understand more complex design practices. The majority of work is focused on digital analysis using innovative techniques in a multitude of radar signal processing domains. The candidate will work as an integral team member by supporting the software and hardware development of current and future electronics systems. Will gain experience working in fast-paced lab environments and transitioning electronics systems from ideas to development and finally into deployment. The candidate is expected to contribute their talents to all phases of a product lifecycle and be willing to stand behind their design. This engineer will use innovative processing techniques to analyze complex radar data patterns to increase performance of our critical systems. Immediate program needs include an engineer with a radar processing background, both digital and RF. The candidate is expected to communicate well both verbally and in written form and clearly articulate engineering status and accomplishments. Attention to detail will serve this engineer well as there will be plenty of opportunities to showcase their work within the SNC team and to customers. Quality in one’s workmanship is important for all technical and programmatic activities. This position offers the opportunity to move into hardware design, FPGA firmware code development, or systems engineering as he candidate gains experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirements
* Initiate problem solving for new product designs and as well as existing products
* Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirements
* Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation in support of design and development activities
* Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews
* Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirements
* Participate in design integration with customer requirements and industry standards
* Maintains logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment
* Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronics
* Responsible for the design and development of units from concept through qualification

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
* Other duties as assigned

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)
* Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such as Time Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews, Succession Planning, etc.
* Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team training

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Ability to travel occasionally required
* Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

A BS in Electrical Engineering is required.

* 0–3 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering
* Experience with a wide range of computing systems is important, a focus on Matlab is desired
* Experience in intelligence domains (SIGINT, ELINT) or like industry highly desirable
* Previous experience and skills with simulation environments, design implementation, lab integration and test, and system delivery desirable
* Experience in deriving requirements, test planning and procedure development
* Ability to quickly access impacts to customer driven requirements/design changes
* Ability to work with both small and large teams
* Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment with emphasizes in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities
* Support project efforts to interpret customer requirements into system, hardware and software requirements and specifications
* Experience using test equipment is highly desired
