Electrical Engineer - ECLSS
Responsibilities and Qualifications
* Own the electrical hardware development of an ECLSS subsystem
* Develop basic requirements for and generate high level diagrams for all electrical components of a subsystem (e.g. sensors, pumps, valves, controllers)
* Research components in exacting detail, reading datasheets and manuals, and discussing with suppliers when necessary (i.e. thoroughly vet components to ensure they fit with requirements)
* Specify high reliability and test interconnects (i.e. cable harness design)
* Work with subsystem leads and assemblers to oversee the integration of electrical and electromechanical components with data acquisition hardware
* Assist in development of requirements for a variety of circuit types as needed, including serial bus, discrete digital, analog conditioning, and power switching
* Assist in prototyping and proving out circuit designs as part of a larger Avionics team
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or extensive experience in electrical design and test
* Five (5) years’ experience in similar roles (i.e. Electrical system development, component vetting and testing, other system development team experience)
* High level of technical skill, attention to detail, and good written and oral communication skills are required
* Proficiency with Altium Designer or other major circuit design CAD package
* Significant laboratory experience is a plus
* Experience in design for harsh environments such as space
* Experience with parametric solid modeling
* Experience in a small company environment is preferred
* Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 or equivalent quality systems
* Knowledge of aviation or aerospace standards is a plus

In 2006 and 2007, we successfully launched and deployed Genesis I and II. On April 8, 2016 we launched the BEAM, Bigelow Expandable Activity Module, on contract with NASA to the International Space Station. The BEAM is a technology demonstrator to promote the viability of expandable habitat technology.
