Electrical Design Engineer - LV, Small Power and Lighting

Basic rate: £31.40 per hour + On-going contract (12 months+ minimum)

The Contract:

The role is the Electrical Design Engineer responsible for Low Voltage, Small Power and Lighting design, equipment selection and specification.

Responsible for the development of the electrical LV, small power and lighting strategy and specification and its dissemination across all technologies within manufacturing, via the technology forums.

The strategy will be developed to include, but not limited to: -

Electrical Design - Responsible for the design of the LV, small power and lighting systems, starting at the site sub stations, including all containment and cabling/distribution systems, through to the end devices being sockets, light fittings, control panels, small power distribution, etc.

Play a key role in helping develop an Electrical design and validation strategy, compliant of all regulatory and statutory requirements which will form an Electrical Standard for this client. Include all elements of safety and performance related items. These include: Principal designer, standards for manufacture and installation as well as site setup, project and installation management, commissioning, client acceptance and the ongoing maintenance strategy.
Assist with the Electrical Power and Distribution Environmental Impact Assessment and Reduction Roadmap. Play your part in the total cost ownership of power consumption across all sites and generate year on year plans to drive down energy costs

Ideally you should have:
Minimum of 5 years' experience of designing LV electrical services and systems

2391 Test & Inspection certs
