Director of Operations Development is an experienced & knowledgeable leader who has generated significant impact through the strategic and tactical direction of running and/or establishing a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. This position will provide direction in building and starting up an MRO facility in India.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency relative to the new MRO operation in India.
Develop and direct the management of the facility to ensure efficient and effective launch of operations, processes, etc.
Support implementation of the quality and safety management programs, planning and execution cycles, etc.
Working with and creating relationships as required with Joint Venture (JV) Partners and local vendors to effectively develop an MRO facility in India. Interact regularly with executive team and individual department heads to ensure that company's operational priorities are aligned with total company direction.
Support successful implementation of any business project objectives. Participate in vendor negotiations to ensure product relevance and cost-efficiency.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Six to seven years of related experience in an Aviation MRO environment.
Prior experience running, supervising and/or starting up an MRO facility. Preferred experience working in India or overseas and knowledge of local business standards
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job has flexibility as to the primary location; can reside in U.S. or India. Although will require extended stays in India in proximity to the new JV facility.
- This role will require ability to survey construction work on site in India
- Travel internationally
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility. The environmental characteristic for this position is an office setting, plus construction site in India. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment.
TRAVEL
Would require frequent travel to India to oversee facility development in that region and quarterly visits to AAR Headquarter location.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE
Eligible to work in U.S. and also in India with required passport and/or other authorizations.
