The Director of Maintenance will report to the Deputy Program Manager at NAS Whiting Field and is responsible for supervising all maintenance at the two sites in the U.S. The primary mission of the Program is service, maintenance and test flight TH-57 rotary wing aircraft. The position of Director of Maintenance requires a combination of management ability, communication skills, and leadership qualities. The Director of Maintenance is also required to be highly professional, customer-oriented and thoroughly understand Naval Aviation program requirements.

The Director of Maintenance will be responsible for the overall aircraft maintenance operations to provide all logistics support services including labor, services, equipment, tools, direct and indirect materiel required to support and maintain all Navy TH-57 aircraft, aircraft systems, and related support equipment located at NASWF and manage all TH-57 parts and material at NASWF and the satellite site at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The aircraft shall be maintained IAW the Government provided maintenance documentation in contract and with Title 14 CFR Part 145, Title 14 CFR Part 43 and Title 14 CFR Part 91. Repair or overhaul of aircraft, avionics and related components performed off-site shall be IAW Title 14 CFR Part 145 and Title 14 CFR Part 43 using FAA certified personnel and facilities with proper ratings and current certifications for the work being performed and/or as amended by the Government.


* Serving as liaison with government representatives to coordinate all Program actions.
* Directs, coordinates, and manages all aspects of aircraft maintenance for the assigned TH-57 fleet.
* Provides leadership to the workforce through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication.
* Reviews and analyzes aircraft maintenance reports and statistical data to detect trends and problem areas.
* Evaluates maintenance operations and facilities for compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures, and operational policies.
* Implements’ training program within assigned work center and evaluates program’s effectiveness. Tracks and documents individual progress and provide feedback to training department.
* Prepares forms, records, reports and other documents pertaining to maintenance on aircraft, components, and equipment on assigned project.
* Performs trend analysis to identify problem areas and applies production, quality, and other maintenance management principles and procedures to the production process.
* Provides guidance, technical assistance, and instruction to personnel and conducts technical training in the use, preparation, maintenance, and disposition of aircraft, vehicle, and equipment forms and records.
* Ensures sufficient manpower, technical data, tools, and equipment is available for planned work and shift coverage. Monitors time and attendance of personnel in the work center.
* Assures all labor and materials are being used and maintained in the proper manner and are allocated to the correct job and work order number.
* Works closely with personnel to ensure that only required parts are requested and ordered. Ensures unserviceable items are tagged and turned into supply system in a timely manner.
* Supervises the scheduled, unscheduled maintenance, overhaul, and modification of aircraft and aircraft systems/ components. Supervises and provides technical guidance to maintenance personnel performing aircraft and subsystem maintenance.
* Plans, schedules, and controls the flow of maintenance within work centers to meet aircraft training requirements and mission readiness standards and metrics
* Manages and coordinates maintenance/production activities within scheduled, unscheduled, or flight line maintenance. Coordinates work input to the maintenance sections, assigns priorities, and aligns resources within assigned work center.
* Determines man-hours, personnel, parts, and facility requirements to repair aircraft and associated equipment.
* The Director of Maintenance shall have the ability to meet constraints of time, cost and technical performance, while focusing on customers' needs through strong leadership, decision making, management, and communication skills.
* The Director of Maintenance shall have recent knowledge of organizational processes, risk management, quality processes and quality management, schedule and cost control, basic contracting law, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Acquisition Regulations, Navy Federal Acquisition Regulations, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Defense Logistics Manual (DLAM 8210.1) and Navy Aviation maintenance management.
* The Director of Maintenance shall review, direct, and coordinate all program actions.

* Must have at least ten (10) years aircraft maintenance management which should include 5 years in an Aircraft Maintenance Management role, background in rotary wing aircraft desirable.
* Five (5) years directly managing aircraft maintenance operations highly preferred.
* BA/BS degree in a managerial discipline
* Must have FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
* It is highly desirable that the selected individual have an in-depth background in Navy Aviation.
* Professional verbal and written communication skills for interaction with executive decision makers, composing job descriptions, proposals, and presentations.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a customer facing role and as a collaborative member of a diverse team.
* Must be willing and able to deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional and effective manner.
* Must have an in-depth working knowledge of CBA work force operations.
* Must have valid Driver’s License
