ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for and has authority over the Line Maintenance Department, Maintenance Control, and administration of the Maintenance Training program. All of the Director of Maintenance duties may be delegated as necessary. Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

* Responsible for scheduling, planning, and executing required aircraft maintenance and inspections

* Direct Maintenance department and service agencies to assure maintenance is performed in an efficient and satisfactory manner, in accordance with OAI manuals and applicable FAA regulations

* Serve as member of CASS and ETOPS boards

* Represent the interest of the company to service agencies seeking to accomplish aircraft and component maintenance

* Monitor all Maintenance delays, and provide guidance for repairs and recovery plans

* Liaise with FAA representatives when needed

* Direct planning and accomplishment of all heavy maintenance activity

* Hold final authority regarding hiring and termination of maintenance personnel

* Monitor maintenance personnel performance, and initiate additional training to maintain acceptable skill levels

* Responsible for developing and implementing maintenance procedures to preserve Maintenance program's current status

* Analyze maintenance logs and other data to recommend improvements in aircraft safety and reliability

* Monitor aircraft schedules and coordinate with aircraft scheduling ensuring adequate maintenance down time is available

* Ensure adequate information is available to meet lead-time requirements for provisioning of spares compliment

* Provide recommendations of maintenance facility requirements and flexibility to meet changing aircraft schedules

* Formulate, prepare, or have prepared, all engineering orders

* Ensure timely production of an aircraft to meet operating schedules

* Act as liaison with Director of Quality Control to ensure adequate representative coverage

* Will control the training files and schedule recurrent and upgraded training as required.

* Prepare or have prepared a planning worksheet of scheduled maintenance items.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

* Must be qualified in accordance with FAR 119.67 (c)
* Must hold FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate
* Possess valid passport
* May be required to obtain specific Government security clearances
* Available after hours, weekends, or holidays
* Required to have company phone and be on-call as needed

* Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Outstanding attendance and dependability history
* Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience
* Knowledge and understanding of Company Policies and Procedures
* Proficiency in MS office programs preferred
* Ability to work with all levels of Management and employees
* Test negative on an FAA mandated pre-employment drug test, and on subsequent tests under the Omni drug and alcohol testing policy applicable to employees occupying safety sensitive positions
* Must pass a 10-year Background check including a FAA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or GED required
* Bachelor’s Degree preferred
* Hold a mechanic certificate preferred
* Experience working and repairing large airplanes
* Must have prior experience of returning airplanes to service

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

* Stand/Walk about 5% of the time
* Sit about 90% of the time
* Travel about 30% of the time
* Lift overhead up to 50 lbs

MENTAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS

* Ability to handle numerous activities at once and complete in a timely manner
* Work with limited supervision and possess an impeccable attention to detail, excellent customer service and organizational skills required
* Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully with significant detail
* Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions or other information
* Ability to work as part of a cohesive team and provide leadership
* Ability to make quick decisions which impact the department’s credibility, and services reacting in a positive manner during unexpected and/or serious situations
* Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters and/or conduct routine oral communication
* Must have ability to apply common sense in understanding and dealing with others while maintaining diplomatic and professional conduct at all times
* Must be aware of, and able to recognize and respond to, a variety of situations to include: emergency, medical, and security-related
* Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, publications of limited scope or impact, etc., and/or
