Lead the development and execution of the CDG commercial marketing strategy for the CDG commercial portfolio including technical authoring, Inmedius technical authoring software, and eLearning products and services. Manage market analysis, sales campaign support, lead generation, and promotional marketing communications to support sales growth. The Director of Marketing will work with the Global Sales Director to align CDG marketing initiatives with sales strategies at key accounts and across the Aerospace & Defense industry. The Director of Marketing will supervise all personnel and/or contracted vendors with direct marketing and promotions execution responsibilities to ensure that all marketing services delivered on behalf of the company are being provided efficiently and effectively. The Director of Marketing will collaborate with the Director of Communications to develop promotional marketing content and materials that are consistent and in alignment with CDG corporate strategy messaging objectives and internal policy.
College Degree required
Preferred Degree: Marketing or Business Administration
7+ years of corporate marketing program administration and management experience
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Familiarity with the aerospace and defense industry especially OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
Knowledge of various market research methodologies including competitive analysis, trend watching, customer surveys/focus groups
Expertise in of marketing strategy, market segmentation, and product marketing for dynamic products and services including creation of tailored marketing plans and collateral
Knowledge of Promotions Plan Development and Budget Development/Management
Knowledge of Direct Marketing Tactics (Advertising/Media Buying, Trade Show Exhibits and Event Planning, Webinar Hosting, Direct Mail/Email Campaigns, Collateral Copywriting, etc.)
Experience working with graphic design vendors or staff to oversee development of marketing materials (brochures, email marketing messages, trade show exhibit graphics, promotional videos, other sales support materials)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task

Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software preferred

Responsible and accountable for representing the Voice of the Customer and delivering customer intelligence to support product development and sales
Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
Provide guidance to CDG leaders on the state of the market related to new business investments
Collaborate with the sales team to create go-to-market strategies for key accounts to include the right suite of CDG products and services, offered at the right price point to drive winning sales campaigns and meet LRBP expectations
Support the function, operations, and delivery of timely, high quality marketing content in commercial sales proposals.
Grow existing and forge new relationships with Technical Publications Leadership within key aerospace customer senior leadership teams to gather market intelligence, test new product and service offerings, and initiate sales cycles
Connect with technical publication industry experts to build reliable network of advisors and market intelligence support
Manage development and execution of marketing promotions activities including: newsletters, advertising campaigns, white papers, brochures, social media presence, trade show exhibit events, hosted customer seminar/symposium events, webinars, advertising/media buying, and direct mail/email campaigns
Work with Director of Communications to develop and identify content and marketing materials for CDG website
Collaborate with Director of Communications on development of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) keyword focused content on the website as appropriate to promote specific products or services in the portfolio
Responsible for development of marketing campaigns to support sales lead generation
As required, select and supervise vendors and contractors for marketing materials development and marketing program administration (graphic designers, printers, mailing services, and other services agencies)
Supervise CDG marketing personnel as required for completion of specific marketing projects
Provide oversight and assign marketing personnel to administer the internal CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software used by CDG commercial team. Apply CRM tools capabilities to monitor and track activities with existing and prospective customers. Supervise marketing personnel to ensure timely entry and assignment of new sales leads generated by website and marketing campaigns. Provide training to CDG Sales staff as needed on use of CRM tools.
