Job Description

Job Summary

The Director of Line Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance for MSP, all outstations, Maintenance Control, Maintenance Training and GSE’s. This position is also responsible for creating and maintaining a culture of safety, compliance, and profitability.

Essential Functions

* Control and monitor daily system wide maintenance operation

* Review and analyze airline schedule proposals insofar as aircraft maintenance support requirements are concerned

* Manage user aspects of maintenance automation programs and activities - including training, monitoring of system operation, and revision recommendations

* MSP and outstation hangar management to include tooling, staffing, and facility needs.

* Lead the efficient operation of the airline's production, including base maintenance, outstation maintenance, maintenance planning, and maintenance control

* Develop maintenance staffing models based upon current and future operational needs

* Manage RFP Process for maintenance functions when appropriate

* Manage technical operations responsibilities with respect to fleet decisions

* Responsible for building and managing the budget for responsible areas

* Review and provide input to aircraft leases

* Collaborate with other departments to identity and address inefficiencies

* Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, Federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines

* Any other duties assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibility

Manager Maintenance Control, Manager Maintenance, Maintenance Representative, Maintenance Planner

Required Skills

Qualifications and Education Requirements

* Ten years of experience in large transport aircraft

* Three to Five years of supervisory experience within an aircraft maintenance organization

* A&P License

* Proficient in Microsoft Office

* Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written

* Must have good Management/people skills

* Proven leadership skills

* The ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and organize effectively

* Keen attention to details and excellent communication skills

* Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency, demonstrates initiative and able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones photocopiers, filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
