Airtask Group provides bespoke mission based aviation solutions to Government and Commercial customers.  

Due to continued expansion of activities and in order to strengthen our postholding team we are currently seeking to recruit a Deputy Flight Operations Manager. This is a full time role based at our Head Office in Cranfield.  This is a great opportunity for an individual that wants to be an integral part of a small, friendly team and who is enthusiastic about growing the business and looking for progression. The position will require an individual that is willing to travel, attending our various Company bases in addition to, if required, detachment locations.

The position requires a dedicated, self-motivated individual who has a full appreciation of the need to meet legislative requirements as well as an extremely high level of attention to detail. The successful candidate will need the ability to deal with changing requirements, sometimes at short notice as well as work on development of long term projects. 

Key responsibilities are:

  •  Ensuring that all the Company's operations are conducted in accordance with the Air Navigation Order currently in force, EASA Implementing Rules and all other pertinent legislation, rules and regulations.
  •  The provision of trained aircrew to operate Company aircraft in all sectors of the Company's operations, the management, welfare and discipline of the Company's aircrew and cabin crew, the issue of aircrew instructions, and training standard.
  • Maintaining awareness of aircrew capability and experience levels.
  •  Guidance to the Company concerning deployment of aircraft within its worldwide AOC.
  • Guidance to the Company concerning aircraft technical matters.
  • Oversight, Preparation and monitoring of Flight Documentation.
  • Utilising the Company SMS to Identify, Assess and mitigate risks.
  • Reviewing all external regulatory communication.

It is essential that prospective candidates have the following skills and experience:

  • Holds or has held an EASA ATPL with a minimum of 5000 hours experience.
  •  Experience on a variety of aircraft; including transport category jets and demonstrable experience in specialised operations.
  •  An in depth current understanding of EASA implementing rules and associated legislation.
  •  Management and/or training experience.
  • Capability to meet the requirements to hold a Form 4 Nominated Person post.
