Position Summary:

Primary responsibility to assist in the plant’s Lean, Six-Sigma journey. Define, design, and implement continuous improvement programs. Ensure programs are successfully integrated across the organization, including building strong workforce engagement. Define improvement projects aligned with business strategies. Analyze improvement programs and results. Facilitate and coach employees on continuous improvement initiatives. Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success. Install process excellence support for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certification and rewards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Serve as a subject matter expert for lean six sigma and continuous improvement (CI) projects, training, initiatives, and issues.

* Develop and maintain customer required continuous improvement processes, policies, and procedures.

* Support functional areas with lean and CI training, process definition and optimization, and implementation and metrics planning.

* Review Lean Six Sigma & CI initiatives, processes, and procedures and recommend changes to ensure alignment with company goals

* Recommend changes to encourage and achieve efficient horizontal & vertical integration of Division top down goals, along with "best-practices" gathered from bottom-up review.

* Communicate and collaborate successfully with people in a team environment.

Required Skills:

* Knowledge, understanding, and prior experience implementing Lean Six sigma practices in a manufacturing environment

* Experience conducting lean six sigma/CI workshops such as Accelerated improvement, production preparation, value stream mapping, 5S

* Well versed in ISO/AS9100 Quality requirements

* Good working knowledge of MS office suite

* Thorough understanding of ERP systems (Syteline a plus), broad knowledge of Quality specific software and metrics

* Good blueprint reading and manufacturing/inspection related math skills

* Strong understanding of the concepts and capabilities that pertain to complex manufacturing

* Excellent verbal and written skills and an ability to work proactively in a teamwork environment

* Manage time, priorities, written reports, metrics, and presentations without supervision

* Strong leadership, relationship building, teaming, and communication skills

* Ability to affect changes from non-reporting personnel

* Attention to detail

* Willingness to observe, train others, and make 'win-win' type recommendations

* Analytical Thinker, Trustworthy, High energy level

* Excels in application of learning

Required Experience and Education:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

* 2-3 years relevant experience in manufacturing environment preferred

* Strong understanding of plant operations

Work Conditions:

* Mixed office and shop/industrial

* Occasional moving parts, machine noise; VDTs, computers

* Low physical activity with intra-building walking

* Lift/Move/Position: None to occasional 20lbs

* May require work/travel at another division, facility of office location
