A fantastic opportunity has arisen for my client based in Luton for a Community Noise Executive to join them on a permanent basis. You will be working within Flight Operations and you will identify and respond to trends highlighted by complaints, as well as providing timely responses to community enquiries.


Role: Community Noise Executive

Salary: Competitive

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week Monday - Friday

Location: Luton Airport


Main activities of role: -

The Community Noise Executive will be responsible for compliance with the planning conditions relating to noise. The post holder will be required to monitor and promote engagement with the community in relation to noise management procedures and effects, particularly through the community noise monitoring programme.

Produce reports and presentations on performance for internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities: -

  • Monitor adherence to the Noise Control Scheme
  • Management of the Noise Insulation Scheme
  • The logging, investigating and responding to noise complaints from the community.
  • Management of the Community Noise Monitoring programme, including analysis of data and production of reports.
  • Monitor adherence to the noise control scheme
  • Organise and attend community Public Surgery events.
  • Work with stakeholders/customers and other departments to understand the causal factors of noise impact of my client’s operation and identify initiatives to reduce this impact.
  • Prepare presentations and data analysis to respond to queries relating to operational performance both internally and for use at community/stakeholder forums.
  • Collate, produce and where necessary design ad-hoc and routine noise reports and be accountable for their accuracy, analysis, executive summary, commentary and timely delivery.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required and write minutes of meetings when necessary.
  • Monitoring of the airports NTK system.
  • Monitor adherence to the noise control scheme


  • The ideal candidate is expected to have some experience or knowledge of the following:
  • Good administrative background, with proven experience of customer service. Patience and empathy are of importance in this role.
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry in general and its environmental impacts.
  • Good communication and written skills (attention to detail is vital).
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking primary responsibility for your own core tasks, but also supporting other team members where your skills can be of value.
  • Understands LLA’s role in the London and UK airspace network.
  • Aircraft noise and the impact on local communities.
  • Noise abatement controls and processes used to measure.
  • A background in environmental monitoring is desirable but not essential.
