Command Software Engineer II - 1082784

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer on the Mission Control Center (MCC) Specialty Software team. This position will provide maintenance and software development for MCC Space Communications Subsystem in support of NASA's Johnson Space Center International Space Station, Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100, and Orion programs. Applicant would work in the MCC COMM User Interface (UIF) area handling the development of control and monitor applications for the Operations Team. The applicant will work in a team environment and will be responsible for software design, implementation, testing, and user support after the release of the software. Applicant must possess good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are required.

Skills and Experience

* B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field.
* UNIX or Linux experience is required.
* Familiarity with supporting software development projects using Object Oriented programming.
* Knowledge of software development using agile practices.
* Must have experience with C and C++ and be experienced with developing and testing software.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory.
* Minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Successful candidates must be able to apply for and successfully receive and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements.
