Position Title: Civil Engineer - Geotechnical Specialist
Position Description/Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include providing geotechnical consultation, analysis and design in support of industrial, civil engineering, and environmental projects for the Civil/Structural Department. Primary task is to develop scope of work for Geotechnical Consultant to investigate and characterize soil conditions at project location, monitor investigation field progress and interpret the findings. Other tasks include but are not limited to developing specifications and scopes of work for pile installation, site preparation and soil improvement subcontract ITB packages, Technical Bid Evaluations of specialty earthworks design proposals, detail design of sheet pile shoring, piling and geosynthetic earth structures. Also responsible for visits to project sites where unusual soil conditions or topographic features exist that pose risk to project execution.
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
* Minimum ten (10) years of related experience
* Must have experience monitoring quality control of earthworks construction and/or geotechnical investigations
* Technical knowledge with current soil improvement techniques such as installation of stone columns, dynamic compaction, deep soil mixing and CMCs
* Must be competent in Microsoft Work, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
