TAA are proud to support their client based in Stansted for their Chief of Office of Airworthiness vacancy.

The Chief of the Office of Airworthiness is responsible for maintaining the requirements of the Design Assurance System, Office of Airworthiness in accordance with EASA PART 21 ‘J’ regulatory requirements. 

The COoA is to ensure that the Design Office Handbook is up to date and complies with the latest regulatory requirements whilst maintaining communication lines and cooperation with Agency personnel. 

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Chief of Office of Airworthiness is accountable to the Head of Design Organization for all aspects of the functions of the Office of Airworthiness: 
Ensure that all elements of the Design Office Handbook are kept up to date.
Perform classification of Changes and Repairs.
Sign the Minor Change & Repair Approval Certificate when satisfied that all certification, environmental protection, and operational suitability data requirements have been met.
Complete Compliance Verification of all design work.
Maintain communication with the Agency on all aspects of airworthiness.
Authorize Compliance Verification Engineers and drawing and document Checkers.
Conduct a Compliance Review after completion of a certification program.
Upon successful completion of the Compliance Review, sign the Minor Change & Repair Approval Certificate, or ensure that the HoD (or his/her designated deputy) signs the Declaration of Compliance, as appropriate.
Review and amend the DOH as required.
Works within a team environment taking the lead on all aircraft airworthiness and compliance issues.
Participates in resolving complex problems that require a high level of ingenuity and innovation.
Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools.
Manages customer and supplier relationships.
Uses engineering and industry experience to demonstrate compliance with EASA rules and regulations.
Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
Previously held the position of Chief of Office of Airworthiness or a ‘Deputy’ position is desirable.
Must presently hold CVE signatory privileges.
Strong aviation background and experience working as part of an EASA Part 21 Subpart J organization.
5 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
Evidence of PART21 ‘J’ training is required.

Physical Requirements: Individual must be able to sit for extended periods of time, working at a desk and/or attending meetings. May occasionally require employee to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Will need to be able to move throughout the office and communicate with other employees and management. Work will be performed in an office environment.
