Charter Operations Manager

Pel-Air Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Regional Express (Rex), Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of more than 50 Saab 340 aircraft on some 1,500 weekly flights to 60 destinations throughout New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.

Pel-Air is recruiting for the position of Charter Operations Manager located at Pel-Air Head Office in Mascot, NSW.

Reporting
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Position Responsibility
•Management, direction and leadership of the Pel-Air Operations team.
•Assisting with day to day tasks including management and coordination of disruptions and emergency responses.
•Staff Training.
•Shift coverage for staff leave in the Pel-Air Operations team, including the weekends.
•Monitoring standards and efficiency of work within the Pel-Air Operations team.
•Having oversight over commercial quotes, responding to charter enquiries and managing client relationships.
•Administrative tasks including updating of operational information and documents within the team, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of reports generated by the Pel-Air Operations team.
•Management of the On-Time Performance for the freight and charter operations.
•Ensuring crew currencies and training allocation.
•Facilitating the coordination with Rex mainline operations teams.
•In the event of an emergency, to initiate the company response plan and carry out duties as requested by the Pel-Air Emergency Response Team.
•Other tasks as directed by the General Manager Flight Operations and the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Selection Criteria
•Ability to lead and instruct staff
•Previous supervisory experience
•Able to work and take calls at varying hours when needed to address operational or staff matters
•Able to work well within a team environment
•Able to offer shift support, including weekends, for shift cover
•Problem solving skills and capable of lateral thought
•Ability to maintain efficiency and accuracy under pressure
•High level of organisation skills with ability to prioritise
•Computer literacy of a high degree
•Fluent English, written and spoken
•Previous experience in Crewing, Operations and Charter Sales in an aviation environment will be advantageous
