SUMMARY

Develop and maintain a quality system to assure that all products and services delivered on this contract meet AAR and end-user specifications and are suitable for their intended use. Manage all aspects of the Aircraft Maintenance Program’s Environment, Health and Safety program. Functional supervisor for all Quality Control Inspectors on the CBP Program. Responsible for aircraft maintenance inspection policies and procedures. Serves as the primary liaison with the FAA for any program related issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for ensuring overall maintenance inspections are performed in compliance with FAR.

* Support the quality assurance program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products.

* Direct, assist, and supervise all personnel assigned to the inspection department. This includes RII qualified technicians during the period that they are actively performing inspection work.

* Direct and administer the Required Inspection Item (RII) program.

* Direct and administer the Measuring & Test Equipment (MTE) program.

* Direct and administer a receiving inspection program for aircraft parts and material.

* Direct and administer the audit and inspection of aircraft maintenance records to ensure accurate and complete entries, authorized RII inspections, and proper Airworthiness Releases.

* Coordinate with FAA/DOD offices regarding Quality Control/Assurance issues.

* Direct and administer the Technical Publications Program.

* Responsible for controlling the accuracy of the data in customer maintenance and quality computer system, such as EMRKS.

* Review operational changes and requirements to insure adequate inspection oversight. Keep informed of changes and requirements of the FAR's.

* Review bi-weekly AD summaries and advise the Maintenance Manager of any affecting equipment.

* Administer a system of Continuous Analysis and Surveillance.

* Develop and maintain a published supplier quality index in conjunction with the supplier review board to ensure that only high-quality vendors are retained.

* Maintain the facility Corrective and Preventative Action System.

* Conducts weekly Quality meetings and monthly ESH meetings

* Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.

* Prepares for and represents the company during all ISO 9000, NADCAP, and related audits. Conducts ISO internal audits on-site.

* May perform ISO audits at other AAR facilities.

* Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel.

* Function as chairperson of the facility Supplier Review Board Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.

* Ensure that all incoming transfers and RMRs are processed properly.

* Assist Quality Control personnel in reviewing and updating department standards.

* Promote the pursuit of continuous improvement. Administer effective training and on the job training of Quality Control inspectors.

* Support CDRL requirements as required

* Travel is required

* Position requires proof of US citizenship

* Position requires successful completion of DHS Background Investigation

* All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. PC Literate (Microsoft Office). Must have thorough knowledge of inspection methods, techniques and equipment used in the area of responsibility. Must have good working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor’s degreeor eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* A minimum of 5 years supervisory/management experience in a Quality Control function is required.

* A formal Quality Assurance credential from a recognized quality association is preferred.

* FAA A&P Certificate and Inspector Authorization Certificate preferred.

* Must have complete understanding of Domestic and Foreign Regulatory Compliance Requirements as well as OSHA and EPA Compliance Requirements and FAA and Department of Transportation transport of hazardous materials.

* Previous RII authority and experience.
