Duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

Essential Job Function

  • Work with colleagues to enhance the capability of the AAG Business Excellence Functional team.
  • Evaluate current business practices, work with internal teams to generate and implement ideas, and improve processes to make the best use of the business’s resources.
  • Ensure that any standardised improvements are implemented and sustained.
  • Drive internal process improvement within Atlantic Aviation Group to enable improved efficiency, standards of quality and problem-solving capability with a strong focus on People, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics.
  • Mentor and facilitate project teams and collaborate with all departments to champion the business excellence plan to further build on our culture of continuous improvement and problem solving.
  • Identify and introduce best practices and continuous improvement templates, techniques, models and systems to support the Business Excellence Plan and to enable standardisation across the company.
  • Identify training requirements based on an agreed Business Excellence Plan & arrange and/or conduct the training required to support this.
  • Develop a manpower resource plan to support the agreed Business Excellence Plan and work with senior management to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Drive short- and long-term action plans through to successful implementation.
  • Manage Business Excellence campaigns & projects to include providing ongoing mentoring and support, project cost/ benefit analysis, holding regular reviews with senior management and ultimately ensuring that deliverables are achieved.
  • Validate the results of all Business Excellence projects using appropriate data tools and identify, quantify and measure ongoing performance improvements and KPI’s.
  • Participate in conferences or other events where appropriate to stay current on best practices and identify new areas of improvement for the company.
  • Work with external agencies to create a sustainable Business Excellence Function.
  • Be the Role-Model for best practices for the Business Excellence Function.
  • Other roles and responsibilities as required by the CIO in line with the overall company strategy.

 Candidate Requirements

  • A Lean practitioner with 5 years+ experience in a role focused on Business Process Improvement activities.  A qualification in Lean/Six Sigma/Business Process Improvement is not required, but is desirable.
  • Strong in people leadership through 1-2-1 and team-based coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to develop strong relationships to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement and Change Management. Ability to clearly articulate expectations and communicate progress and results is vital for this role.
  • Programme and Project Management experience in terms of both Governance and Execution.
  • Strong analytical/statistical problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • The ability to link internal and external customer needs with optimised business processes.
  • An energetic approach combined with excellent organisation skills and a commitment to deliver safely, on-time and on-budget.
  • Demonstrable business acumen, good judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to influence and encourage with clarity, empathy, positivity and objectivity.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage and facilitate teams.
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of data analysis tools.

Typical Working Conditions

  • Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon.
  • PPE is provided by AAG, and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
