British International Helicopters Services Ltd operate from a number of different international sites, predominantly supporting the UK Ministry of Defence with training, passenger and equipment transfers and Search and Rescue (SAR).
We are currently seeking an individual to join our Engineering Department as a AW189 B1.3 Licensed Engineer, at our site at Mount Pleasant, on the Falkland Islands, in the South Atlantic.
Job Title: B1.3 Licensed Engineer (AW189)
Location: Falkland Islands
Reporting Line: Deputy Head of Engineering Services
To help us achieve our goals, we are looking for an individual who can appropriately manage their own workload, you will need to be organised, flexible and happy to work in a fast-moving and demanding environment, where the priorities can change at short notice and deadlines are often tight.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Carry out both line and / or base maintenance complying with the requirements as described in the regulations
- Complete both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, defect diagnosis and rectification, embodiment of notifications, service bulletins and other mandatory or non-mandatory maintenance
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks carried out to helicopters meet the standard of the EASA instructions
- Ensure that all maintenance is completed within the appropriate timescales to ensure provision of serviceable aircraft to meet the operational need
- Inform and update the Chief Engineer on the maintenance situation
Selection Criteria
Essential
- CAA / EASA Part 66 B1.3
- Type Rated on the AW189
- Flexibility to undertake a rotational 6 weeks on 6 weeks off roster in the Falkland Islands
- Competence in fault finding, scheduled maintenance and installation of modifications, including the use of hand tools and specialised test equipment
- Willingness to undertake training and development opportunities
