Avionics Manager

Responsibilities and Qualifications

* Broad-based electronics hardware engineer with management experience who can oversee/direct subordinates
* Advanced Communications Controller managing the RF interface upload/ download links
* Data hardware management, including internal spacecraft, spacecraft to spacecraft, spacecraft to ground, and ground to mission control networks.
* Analyze concepts on various mission studies and report results to management and at reviews
* Support the analysis of spacecraft systems avionics needs
* Attain information from applicable sources to define avionics requirements and assist the test group in verification of requirements
* Develop a C&DH (command data handling system), with focus on Testability, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Produce ability
* Work with suppliers and vendors to verify their deliveries are meeting specifications with appropriate certifications
* Support new spacecraft development efforts
* Evaluate vendor & COTS (commercial off the shelf), subsystem components including generating and reviewing specification, reviewing designs, procuring components coordinating testing & verification and generation of test report
* Minimum 10 years of experience as Avionics Managing Engineer
* Bachelor's degree or higher in applicable engineering or science field
* Other duties as assigned

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
