This position is for a product line Value Stream Leader (VSL) for the Avionics Common Development Environment (ACDE). The individual chosen to fill this role will:

•Develop and own the overall business and technical strategy for additions / changes to the ACDE.

•Roadmap the development and deployment of content, influence the Avionics    Engineering Capability Funnels and engage with stakeholders to ensure needs are met.

•Manage day-to-day execution of the development of new features and updates/fixes, in accordance with cost and schedule baselines.

•Work with central functions and Avionics SBU Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) Advisor to align digital engineering strategies, roadmaps, and production solutions.

•Support program adoption of ACDE.

A product line VSL leads the Integrated Project Team (IPT) through the life cycle tenets of the Collins Management System (CMS) for their assigned product line; inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, produce to deliver and long-term strategic business plans. Primary responsibilities include spearheading strategic planning for assigned product lines, using price to win and market data to drive design decisions, execution of product developments, and promoting cross-business product synergies to support business unit objectives. The product line VSL directs all phases of product line strategy and development from inception through completion.

This is an onsite role located in Cedar Rapids, IA. Remote may be considered for highly-qualified candidates.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides VSL support for product line and channel segment analysis to inform ACDE advancement.
• Develops investment business cases, new business growth strategies and drives annual strategic planning efforts for the business.
• Identifies requirements for key program pursuits and development of the ACDE

• Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources or prioritization of feature development and assists in resolution development for escalated problems.
• Execution responsibilities include cost, schedule, technical performance, risk management, product support, deployment support, and quality.
• Work with all stakeholders to ensure commitments are met or exceeded.
• Interfaces with stakeholders for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
• Leads decision making for the IPTs and applying critical thinking where incomplete data exists.

• Communicates vision to their IPT and stakeholders within and outside of the function, as well as connects how the vision fits within the Avionics business. Requires an ability to effectively communicate with senior executive leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization.
• Prepares and presents value-stream strategy, progress, and results.
• Consolidates and presents progress reports at program or product reviews.

• Establishes data-driven performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.
• Accountable for the overall performance of the assigned value stream.

Typically requires: 

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR  Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR  In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required .

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

• Experience leading complex technical and/or system developments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve enterprise commitments is required.
• Must have experience leading cross-functional teams with matrixed responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on Avionics programs.
• Experience with Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC), Digital Engineering
• Experience with Civil certification.
