JOB TITLE       Skilled Electrical Operative

 

DEPARTMENT    EMC and Avionics
             

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

An opportunity has arisen within the EMC and Avionics  Department for the role of Skilled Electrical operative to Manufacture cable harnesses and panel assemblies within the production staff grading scheme.

 

Main activities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Tool control
  • Documentation
  • Transportation of goods
  • Potting of components
  • Manufacture of all types of cable assemblies
  • Taping and braiding of looms
  • Stores work centre and progress work
  • Laser wire marker
  • Sub-assembly manufacture
  • Manufacture of fibre optics assemblies
  • Assist with the manufacturing process of rigs, ie. Cutting of cables / printing idents etc
  • Manufacture of printed circuits boards complete prior to despatch for conformal coating (see note)
  • Successfully complete ESD training (NGL)

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Have completed training to gain recognition by EMTA of NVQ Level 3 Manufacturing      Aircraft Cable Forms and Looms MU39/1 or have an Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • Understanding of Engineering drawings – WHP’s, MDS’s, EE Standards etc, Company Operating System, DI’s, LI’s, Inspection Notices.
  • Processes and Procedures. A working knowledge of:-
  • Engineering Drawings
  • Engineering Standards
  • Company Quality Documentation
  • Health & Safety
  • COSHH Regulations
  • Plant Machinery and Tooling:-
  • Laser Marking
  • Braiding Machinery
  • General Tooling – soldering / crimping / cutting
  • Tool Control Process
  • Approved operator in accordance with QM 2086.
  • Mandatory training in accordance with current company legislation.
  • Use and recognition of numerous types of specialist tools and machinery.
  • Use and interpretation of company engineering standards, quality documentation
