About the Role
The airport’s Asset Management delivery is on a pathway to gaining ISO55000 accreditation. Currently the
airport has over 74,000 registered assets and is utilising IBM Maximo to deliver the asset management plan.
We have recently upgraded to the latest 7.6 version of Maximo and we are actively seeking to implement
other technological support for the delivery of the asset management function.
We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager to run and develop the asset management function. The
position will provide strategic, technical, and commercial expertise within the Infrastructure Procurement and
Development business unit supporting Melbourne Airport. The person will enable a holistic view to ensure the
delivery of superior strategic management of the airports assets, which include a variety of asset types from
the airfield, terminals, car parks, and the business park and cargo estates.
The position will manage and advise Melbourne Airport’s asset strategy, maintenance performance, capital
replacement forecasting and data control functions to achieve Corporate and Business objectives. The role also
includes managing and improving the use of 3D data (GIS/BIM) within our development projects and
integrating the use of this information into the operational environment.
Core components of the role include:
Managing the asset management frameworks to enable delivery of efficient and effective asset
performance that supports the capital program and operational excellence
Developing and implementing governance and supporting policies to the strategic asset management
plan to enable improved asset performance through the Total Asset Lifecycle, targeting ISO55000
Managing the tactical implementation of the Strategic plan to enable the delivery of efficient and
effective asset performance that supports the capital plan and operational performance
Managing and improving the delivery of 3D data and drawings to support the capital project delivery
and operational integration of this data
The Ideal Candidate will:
Be degree qualified in Engineering, or an associated discipline
Have gained strong and relevant experience in a similar role, ideally in a complex operational
environment such as the airport
Have gained extensive knowledge and experience in implementing asset management plans and the
Hold a high level of knowledge of GIS and BIM including implementation, governance and process
Have strong business and commercial acumen and a strategic mindset
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of key
