Assembly Technician

Responsibilities and Qualifications

* Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies
* Prepare work to be completed by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools and materials
* Assemble components by examining for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
* Check work after completion of each operation and sign off paperwork ensuring work was completed per instructions
* Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements
* Report any part, assembly or equipment defects to the Supervisor or Manager immediately
* Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with company standard procedures, rules and regulations
* Document actions by completing production and quality forms
* Communicate with other departments to maintain work flow and delivery
* Minimum 5 years assembly experience, preferably with aircraft or helicopters
* High school diploma; some college preferred
* Knowledge of manufacturing and the ability to ensure that quality processes and procedures are followed
* Experience with power tools, hand tools and calibrated tools (torque wrenches, calipers, & scales)
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for 6 to 8 hours a day
* Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
