Apprentice Aircraft Mechanics

The Two and a half year Apprentice Aircraft Mechanics provides you with the required theoretical and practical training and experience to become a Licensed CAT A Mechanic.

The programme combines a range of theoretical and practical elements which will develop your skills to start a successful career in Aircraft Engineering.

During the first Year, you will be based at Stansted Airport College where you will complete the theoretical elements to achieve your EASA Category A licence Modules.

In the second year, you will be base at Stansted Airport, working for Ryanair, in a Line and Hangar environment, shadowing Engineers and working on live aircraft. After the second phase is competed, you will complete your end point assessment in order to be in a position to apply for your Category A License, at this point you will need to be a minimum of twenty one to apply to the CAA for your basic cat A licence.

On completion of the program we would encourage and support suitable students to further their studied to achieve a full B1B2 licence enabling us as an Airline to provide full type training on the 737NG and Max and the Learjet 45.

Requirements needed for an Apprentice Aircraft Mechanics:

  • Excellent hand skills
  • Mechanically minded
  • Unrestricted right to work and live in the EU.
  • Self-motivation
  • Full Driving License
  • Flexibility to work away from base to support recovery of AOG aircraft throughout Europe
  • Some EASA Part 66 Modules is desirable
  • Some previous aviation industry experience is desirable
