Job Purpose

The Airworthiness Evaluator will work within the Compliance Monitoring team who are responsible for providing independent quality assurance on all aspects of the airline's airworthiness and operational activities. Reporting to the IEP (Internal Evaluation Programme) Supervisor, the Airworthiness Evaluator shall perform evaluations, audits and inspections of Flybe's airworthiness departments,stations, facilities and contracted organisations.

Key Responsibilities 

The Airworthiness Evaluator shall:

  • Provide input into the internal evaluation programme scope for their area of expertise;
  • Plan and conduct scheduled, special and followup in-depth evaluations of Flybe's safety critical systems;
  • Compile evaluation reports and identify non-conformities and opportunities for system improvements;
  • Assist responsible managers with root cause analysis of findings and the development of corrective action plans (CAPs);
  • Review CAPs for accuracy and effectiveness and offering support to ensure they are comprehensive;
  • Track the implementation of CAPs to ensure timely completion;
  • Be the Compliance Monitoring point of contact for their assigned area of expertise;
  • Generate statistical and data driven reports;
  • Represent the Compliance Monitoring function at the Engineering Safety Action Group and other forums, such as Reliability and TDR meetings;
Essential skills and qualifications
  • You will have a minimum of 2 years continuing airworthiness experience, gained working in a Part M organisation
  • You will hold an engineering qualification
  • You will have had detailed involvement in continuing airworthiness change management and/or auditing for a CAMO undergoing a significant change, eg to software systems or increasing scope of approval to additional aircraft/engine type
  • You will have been trained in EASA Part M and Part 145 requirements
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of Part 21J and IOSA requirements
  • Previous auditing training and experience would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Experience of process improvement methodologies
