TITLE: Aircraft Propeller MRO Certifying Technician

Segers Aviation SA is looking for a Part 145 Certifying Engineer. Must be a skilled, self-starter, enthusiastic MRO technician, with a strong background in propeller maintenance either in an MRO or operator capacity. The primary focus will be on Hartzell fixed and variable pitch propellers but experience of McCauley, MT and other types is beneficial. The first stage of the job will call for assembly/dis-assembly, customer training and field repairs and the second stage will focus on achieving overhaul level capability.
The suitable candidate will have the confidence and technical and inter-personal skills to successfully deal with customers, OEMs and the GCAA. Segers Aviation SA is supported by its sister company Proptech Aero Ltd in the UK and the successful applicant will work closely with UK colleagues and receive training and technical support from Proptech staff in Dubai and possibly in the UK.
Purpose of role:
Develop and carry out all aspects of Propeller repair and overhaul activities.
Work in line with manufacturers’ and regulatory requirements.
Work to meet the customer’s expectations of turnaround time, delivery date and quality standards.
Assist the Accountable Manager with the enhancement of the existing RSF status and implementation of GCAA CAR 145.
Assist the Accountable Manager with all Quality functions of the company.
This is a post-holder position which requires the ability to discuss CAR145 application and implementation matters directly with the GCAA.
Propeller Repair and Overhaul
Hands-on completion of MRO activities in accordance with company procedures and OEM manuals, which will include elements such as:
Carry out inventory checks on products.
Strip products to the required level for inspection.
Clean products to the required level for inspection.
Inspect all relevant components and identify items for scrap, rework or refit with reference to and interpretation of relevant product information and OEM manuals.
Comply with customers’ special requirements.
Perform dimensional inspection of components using precision measuring instruments.
Perform visual inspection of components.
Review & embody service information.
Produce work traveller documents for all components.
Record all detail inspection findings and list all relevant repairs required.
Identify any deficiencies with OEM technical data.
Order and allocate replacement parts.
Produce accurate technical estimates.
Ensure all components are serviceable & compliant to latest modification standards.
Carry out final inspection checks on products, ensuring all paperwork is appropriately completed.
Participate in off-site field visits in the UAE and abroad on a regular basis.
Perform release signatory duties on all products.
Assist with the Goods-In function.
Assist with the Despatch function.
Assist in training other team members ensuring best practice standards are maintained.
Assist with regular equipment maintenance tasks.
Assist with MRO tool control.
Provide cover for driving duties as required.
Uphold high levels of cleanliness and housekeeping throughout the working environment.
Proactively identify elements of processes, equipment and facility that may benefit from improvements.
The use of PPE as directed is mandatory.
Report any safety issues immediately.
