Team JAS, Inc. is looking for a Technician to join our team. Team JAS is an Aerospace Company, specializing in the support of Commuter Aircraft. Established in 1986 our company provides parts support, component repairs, and manufacturing of aircraft spares.

The Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alteration tasks as directed and assigned in accordance with the applicable maintenance data. JAS Services technicians have the authority and responsibility to perform inspection duties as directed and assigned. Since the position is assigned inspection duties (incoming, preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections), the person must be qualified for .

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

  • Carry out assigned tasks, in accordance with the applicable maintenance data in the Repair Station Quality Manual
  • Ensure maintenance operations are performed in the appropriate sequence (as determined by the applicable maintenance data), that inspections are requested in an orderly and timely manner, and that maintenance activities are performed according to the appropriate maintenance data and customer requests.
  • Ensure that all test equipment or tools used to make airworthiness determinations are labeled in accordance with this manual before use.
  • Request stock as required for the work being performed.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork
  • Perform preliminary, hidden damage, in process and final inspection in civil aviation articles in accordance with the current maintenance data
  • Performs incoming inspections to identify, control, segregate, and maintain all materials (including raw materials and parts) according to the manufacturer's requirements or standard industry practices.
  • Performs skilled manual and technical work using hand tools, soldering irons, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
  • Prepares and maintains simple records such as work order documentation, logs, and time and material records, as instructed.
  • Must have an understanding and working knowledge of hazardous material handling and disposal as related to the job assignment
  • Will have prior experience reading and interpreting Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), wiring diagrams, blueprints, or schematics
  • Will be able to use a variety of hand tools and electrical/electronic test equipment. Familiarity with Brazing and Leak Detection equipment a plus

The Team JAS Repair Station will ensure that the Technicians assigned these duties are:

  • Thoroughly familiar with applicable regulations 14 CFR 145.155
  • Thoroughly familiar with inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations are being performed 14 CFR 145.155
  • Proficient in using various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected 14 CFR 145.155

Details 

  • On-Site in Jacksonville, FL 
  • Monday - Friday 6:30AM – 3:30PM
  • Occasional overtime, no night shift, and we are closed on weekends.
  • This is a full-time hourly position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or an equivalent
  • Knowledgeable of components in assigned cells
  • Knowledgeable in the use of the tooling/equipment in cell area
  • Proficient in the use of CMM’s utilized in component repair.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience on components within the cells.
  • A&P or Airframe License
