WE ARE SEEKING:

We are seeking experienced Aviation Mechanic Technicians who are passionate about training the next generation of industry leaders. If you hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate and have hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, we want you on our team!

FULL-TIME SCHEDULE OPTIONS:

Applicants will be considered for one of the following schedules:

  • Option 1: Day shift: Monday through Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm OR
  • Option 2: Eve shift: Monday through Thursday: 3:30pm - 11:30pm and Fridays: 7:30am-3:30pm

PART-TIME SCHEDULE OPTIONS:

Applicants will be considered for one of the following schedules:

  • Option 1: Day shift: Monday through Thursday: 7:30am-3:30pm OR
  • Option 2: Eve shift: Monday through Thursday: 3:30pm - 11:30pm

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Aviation Maintenance Instructor is responsible for delivering hands-on instruction and comprehensive training in assigned courses. In addition to teaching, the instructor manages essential administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum. This role is crucial in fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and prepares them for careers in the aviation industry.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Provide engaging and effective teaching in aircraft maintenance principles while developing curricula that align with industry standards.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and offers individualized support to enhance student success.
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Ensure that the aircraft maintenance training program effectively prepares students for careers in aviation, aligning with industry standards and contributing to the overall success of the institution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach scheduled classes, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that fosters student engagement and enhances learning in aircraft maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, and Campus Executive Director to develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained for student use.
  • Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records for each student, submitting attendance, grades, evaluations, and other documentation as required by institutional procedures.
  • Proactively notify the Supervisor of any current or potential issues that require immediate attention and implement proven retention techniques to support student success.
  • Complete assigned performance-based teacher education modules, participate in classroom observations and instructor evaluations, and respond to student feedback to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Attend and/or lead in-service training sessions, faculty meetings, and other mandatory gatherings to ensure ongoing professional development and collaboration with peers.
  • Assist in managing the inventory of department equipment and supplies, submitting replenishment requests to the Supervisor or appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Monitor student attendance closely, alerting the Supervisor to any absences, particularly at the first, third, and fifth occurrences, to address potential retention issues.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by the Supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the aircraft maintenance program.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in a related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special consideration given for more diverse experience).
  • Must be able to demonstrate a command of theory and practice, contemporary knowledge, and continuing study in their field.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
  • Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member, with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills are required, with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of regular shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by the Supervisor.

WHAT WE OFFER:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35 to $42 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
