MPI require Aircraft Maintenance Fitters for on-going contract based in Chester

 

Applicants must hold a UK passport and if you do not hold one, you must reside in the UK and hold the required documentation to enable you to work in the UK. Please only apply if you have this.

 

Applicants must have served an Aircraft Apprenticeship and have copies of your papers, including current Human Factors and be eligible to obtain full MOD Security Clearance, however our client has confirmed that candidates can start with Base Line Clearance, whilst full MOD clearance is obtained.  (BPSS takes approximately 3 weeks to obtain

 

Approx 37 hours per week (possible overtime - not guaranteed)

Will initially be working days, but may then be required to work shifts.

Summary of Role

The role requires an individual to carry out mechanical depth maintenance tasks.

Main Duties:

Competence in the disassembly/assembly and installation/removal of aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, major components and auxiliary equipment to satisfactorily complete the depth maintenance programme etc

Competence in carrying out basic repairs as per the approved data set/structural repair manual.

Ability to modify basic aircraft systems; this involves component removal adjustment, replacement, modification and the ability to perform the subsequent operational checks, as stated necessary, to prepare the aircraft for flight.

Ability to work, mainly unsupervised, from technical drawings, aircraft manufacturer’s manuals, written or verbal instructions and retrieve production data directly from computer systems.

Knowledge and understanding of organisational procedures and specifications in accordance with job requirements.

May require occasional work at off-site location.

Follow Health & Safety practices and contribute to the safe working environment of the Aircraft Depth Maintenance Facility.

 

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

City & Guilds Certificate/NVQ Level 3 and/or completion of approved base training

Aircraft mechanical maintenance experience

Current Human Factors

 

Desirable:

Experience working in the aerospace industry in an aircraft maintenance and mission integration environment

Experience of working on 'live' aircraft.

Previous knowledge and experience working on the King Air B350 and GEX aircraft platforms

 

Please note: Applicants must eligible to obtain MOD Clearance.. THEREFORE IF YOU HAVE WORKED OUTSIDE OF THE UK IN THE PAST 5 YEARS FOR ANY PERIOD LASTING MORE THAN 28 DAYS, THEN FOR SECURITY CLEARANCE PURPOSES YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE:

POLICE CERTIFICATE FROM EACH COUNTRY YOU HAVE WORKED IN

REFERENCES FROM EACH EMPLOYER OVERSEAS

PROOF OF RESIDENCE IN EACH COUNTRY WORKED
