Aircraft Inspector

Position Summary



Inspectors are directly responsible to the Chief Inspector for all the inspections they perform and all the completed work before it is released to the public and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms executed and used by the Inspector are accurate and complete.



Primary Responsibilities :

* Update computer maintenance tracking programs with current information on a regular basis; generate maintenance due lists
* Perform duties of the Chief Inspector when those duties are delegated by the Chief Inspector
* Maintain and oversee maintenance records for all aircraft on the ExcelAire certificate
* Review work packages for accuracy and completeness of paperwork
* After completion of work by the crew, in cooperation with the Chief Inspector, inspects the work to determine the job is completed and is of the best quality possible
* Familiarize self with all the current pertinent FAA specifications, air worthiness directives, manufacturers instructions, bulletins, technical data, and other approved data applicable to the unit being inspected
* Assure that all the parts rejected or found un-serviceable by are properly marked and tagged
* Properly execute the malfunction and defect report FAA form 8010-4 as necessary
* Proper execution of FAA form 337 and maintenance release pertinent to all items returned to service
* Perform preliminary, hidden damage, in progress, and final inspection of all the items as assigned for inspection
* Ensure that no defective or un-airworthy parts are installed any component or unit returned to service
* Follow policies and procedures as detailed in the Air Carrier and Repair Station manuals.

General :

* Interact with Chief Inspector and other department employees in a professional and respectful manner
* Follow up with Chief Inspector and other company departments and employees
* Regular and prompt attendance
* Work with accuracy, clarity, and an eye for detail

Additional Responsibilities :

* On-call and overtime duties as required
* Miscellaneous other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities :

May delegate all duties to another qualified Inspector as necessary; however such delegation does not relieve the Inspector of overall responsibilities.




Qualifications :

* High school diploma; some college preferred
* FAA Certified A&P License
* Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
* Computer literate in MS Office, with the ability to learn new software as required
* Professional verbal/written communication skills required
* Must pass all conducted drug screens, background and security checks and prove eligibility for employment in the United States
* Excellent listening and problem solving skills
* Ability to work as part of a team or independently
* Ability to effectively communicate and present information
* Ability to multitask
* Ability to act under pressure and be adaptable to change on a constant basis
