Air Charter Service
Location: Surbiton
Job type: Permanent
Contact: Sarah Sabek
Sector: Aircraft, Exterior, Airport, Freight, Cargo & Logistics
Category: Sales Jobs

From an on the day technical issue to seasonal demands and un-planned maintenance to regulatory flight restrictions on specific aircraft, there are many reasons airlines have a need to lease an aircraft. But, who works behind the scenes ensuring airlines can obtain additional aircraft, sometimes with a very short lead time? The answer is people like us.

Our ACMI Department has leased aircraft to many airlines around the world from the small Saab 340 aircraft carrying 30 passengers to cover a daily operation, to the larger wide body Airbus A340-300 aircraft covering schedules for months at a time due to the maintenance down time of aircraft within an airline’s fleet. Every day offers up new challenges, with internal progression and planned expansion creating vacancies for new talent to join our current sales team.

If you join us you’ll start your career as a trainee broker, with a senior broker assigned as your mentor. During your first 12 months with us you will work closely with your mentor learning on the job, as well as undertaking our best-in-class training programme. During this time you’ll join your mentor on airline sales tours around the world, attend preliminary airline audits and visit the aircraft that will be leased, seeing first-hand what goes into ensuring an ACMI lease program is set up and ready for operation. You’ll also learn everything from how to understand individual airline lease requirements and their passenger profiles, to which aircraft will be best suited to a specific ACMI lease request and how to execute this whilst delivering service beyond expectations

Your role will include:

·         Establishing a portfolio of airline clients

·         Creating brand awareness and generating leads

·         Develop and continuously improve on an expert understanding of aircraft we use, their range, capacity and crewing

·         Market and sell ACMI capacity to the existing ACS airline client base

·         Sell and contract ACMI sub charter flights

·         Supplier relationship management

·         IBOS data management (In-house charter management and CRM system)

·         Achieving monthly and annual targets

We’re looking for:

·         Ambition, drive and self-motivation

·         Confidence in developing relationships with clients and suppliers

·         Exceptional communication skills

·         Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills

·         Fluency in English is essential; a second language is an advantage

·         Ability to thrive working under pressure

·         A high sense of urgency

·         Determination to achieve results and exceed goals

·         A hard-working team player

What we offer:

·         Opportunity for extensive travel

·         22 days’ holiday per year which increases with length of service

·         Additional paid leave options for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, your birthday, moving house, weddings and civil partnerships.

·         On site gym, available for use 7 days a week

·         Canteen open for breakfast and lunch

·         Private healthcare and pension

·         Award-winning in house training and mentoring

·         Promotion and career development opportunities

·         A friendly, fun and very exciting environment enhanced with regular company-funded social events, such as Friday night drinks and seasonal parties
