An aircraft mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of an aircraft. Working on a variety of components, they will perform routine checks on aircraft systems, ranging from electrical, communications and hydraulic systems.
Mechanics tend to specialise in a particular area of the aircraft, so they will also fix or repair any issues or damaged components within their relevant expertise. Day-to-day responsibilities will include repairing and inspecting the aircraft, whether electrical or structural, as well as troubleshooting issues and identifying ways of fixing them.

The starting salary for an aircraft mechanic is around $22,000, the average salary is $54,995*. An experienced mechanic can earn around $110,000.
