Wire Installation Design Engineer (Safran Electrical & Power USA, LLC – Everett, WA)
Job Duties: Interface with external and internal customers to develop and maintain wire harness detail, installation, and bundle assembly, including 3D wire harness installation models, wire harness assembly models, and 2D formboard drawings. Create solutions for 2D and 3D wire harness installation designs and incorporates changes to design plan. Perform design change incorporation as required. Collaborate and coordinate with customer to develop design solutions. Contact subcontractors and suppliers to exchange technical data and coordinate project execution. Ensure application of business unit best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools. Translate program technical requirements into work requirements, processes, and tasks. Identify and communicate the need for new/enhanced design requirements. Ensure design optimization through commonality, cost, weight, ability to produce, and maintainability of design. Communicate and/or implement design solutions. Ensure compliance to design requirements. Investigate and resolve design issues. Provide Major/Minor determination for change classification as a Design Approval Engineer (DAE), Individual delegation granted by the FAA. Lead design activities and mentor lesser experienced team members. Monitor and provide status of wire installation activities at airplane level.

Candidate skills & requirements
The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in leading teams in CAD design within the aerospace industry. 4 years of stated experience must include the following: Mechanical/electrical design and installation; configuration management; product lifecycle management including translating work instructions and managing work assignments; fabrication/manufacturing processes for applicable designs, integration of overall System/Airframe designs for fixed wing and rotary blade platforms; design requirements flow, validation, and compliance verification for multiple Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM); engineering work statement definition; 2D and 3D CAD design including CATIA V5, AutoCAD, and pro-Engineer; and MS Office computer and applications.
